Blephroplasty (Eyelid Aesthetic)
The sagging and looseness of the eyelids are surgical procedures in which the bags are corrected. When the excess skin on the upper eyelid progresses, it may begin to affect the visual field, causing a tired expression.
How is eyelid surgery done?
Upper eyelid surgery takes about half an hour under local or general anesthesia. Lower eyelid surgery takes 1-2 hours on average under general anesthesia. An incision is made on the upper eyelid, coinciding with the natural lid fold, and there is no visible scar. In lower eyelid surgery, it is performed by making incisions from the inside of the eyelid (transconjunctival) or from the bottom of the eyelashes, depending on the patient’s needs. If necessary, eyebrow lifting and mid-face interventions can be performed simultaneously.
What is the recovery process like after eyelid surgery?
Eyelid surgery does not require hospitalization. Stitches are removed in 5-7 days. Mild-moderate bruises pass in 7-10 days and most of the edema disappears within 3 weeks. Full recovery is completed in 4-6 months.
What are the undesirable conditions after eyelid surgery?
There may be undesirable conditions such as infection, bleeding, irregularities and asymmetries.
